About Maitland

Maitland is a country town located in the centre of Yorke Peninsula, South Australia. It is located 168 km west of Adelaide and 164 km south of Port Pirie. The "golden heart" of Yorke Peninsula is poised on a ridge with views of Spencer Gulf to the west and the grain-rich Yorke Valley to the east. As a farming community Maitland is surrounded by some of the best Barley growing country in Australia. Maitland is only a short distance (15 minutes drive) from the beaches of both the Spencer Gulf to the west and Gulf St Vincent to the east. It is close to the commercial centre of Kadina and the scenic rugged southern coast and Innes National Park.

As a country town Maitland is full of friendly people and has a strong community spirit. The local Apex club is an important community organisation and the proceeds from this event will benefit the whole community.
